As a teenager, I was a victim of sexual assault. The physical pain outweighed only by the pain of isolation. The loss experienced going through that shit aims to define us and leave us less than. Coupled with the anxiety of survivalism, the trauma disfigures; furthering isolation and alienating love. As an effort to acknowledge and move past that pain, “How Dare We” was borne. Part of the “Operation Consent” exhibition series, “How Dare We” is an examination of trauma and isolation.
